Priorities of work
In two accomplished workshops of 2-3 weeks the restoration of basic constructions like walls and its surfaces stood in the center ramming earth constructions, ashlar masonry, natural stone walls, plasters (often carriers of decorative paintings). Above all, traditional lime techniques the there were used.
During the workshops we worked also with modern restoration products within the range of conservation for demonstration purposes and for mutual experience extension.
Method
The knowledge exchange in handling basic techniques within the range of mortar, plaster, natural stone restoration and the care thereof, as also the necessary training based on the principle of the experience relating to crafts. The techniques must be practiced. Our Workshops forms the basis for independent experimenting the acquired knowledge. The places of work during the Workshops are usually at objects under execution stage.
Financing
The activities are guaranteed by interested national organizations and institutions, by interested enterprises and through private sponsors.

Sustainability
The elements for a continuous exchange are given through the wide area of restoration.
Promotion of professional and institutional expertise.
Our partner organizations in Havana are active in the training of restoration professionals. The CENCREM accomplishes post graduate courses for architects. In addition practitioners related to crafts are working in several restoration studios. In the restorer school of Havana adults are trained as practical restorers. Participants in the workshops are both, teaching staff, as well as students.
Cultural dialog
The project creates possibilities for personal meetings, interchanges and promotes the mutual understanding between the involved participants of both countries on professional level.
Perspectives
At long term we look for the possibility of making experiences and know-how permanently available within the range of the restoration of architectural heritage in the sense of interactivities and the assistance to the self-help if there is a demand.
