Today, ICOMOS is proud to announce that “Landscapes of pastoralist transhumance | A thematic approach” is now available on PUBLICOMOS!
The publication is the result of an extensive collaborative process, involving an interdisciplinary pool of international experts. It explores how the seasonal migration of livestock (known as transhumance) has shaped landscapes, cultures, and rural economies across centuries.
The book also highlights transhumance as both cultural heritage and a model for future sustainability, showing how traditional practices can inform responses to todayโs environmental and social challenges.
